Text from Bill Williamson late Thurs eve: Lots of snow here Rob, may need a rethink on distance. Well a bit late to cancel and anyway he was there already. Luckily David Waide managed to get hold of the latest spec Range Rover from work...
As a celebration of my 60th year on this planet I've decided to race 1 mile for every month I've been alive: 60 * 12 = 720 - simple.
I've set some rules: the miles must be off-road, so road race don't count, they must be part of a recognised race with a mass start and a pre-defined distance (barring getting lost!), so mountain marathons don't count, and the races must be 10 miles or more, so the Shropshire summer series doesn't count.
Does anyone want a lift to Todmorden for the Noonstone on Saturday 27th Feb. It is an English Champs counter. 9m 2300ft. Parking is limited and they are urging car share wherever possible. Email me on c.j.w@zen.co.uk or telephone 07976 290027 Colin Williamson
I bagged my 50th Ultra-prominence* summit 2 weeks ago in France , closely followed by #51 (Gran Canaria) and #52 (Madeira) - anything to delay the onset of winter! Reports:-
Puy de Sancy: http://www.peakbagger.com/climber/ascent.aspx?aid=87643 (a tour of the Massif Central)
Pico de las Nieves: http://www.peakbagger.com/climber/ascent.aspx?aid=88080 (an interesting rock climb)
There are some pictures from a very wet race on the site:-

Finally got round to doing the Elite. First Mixed team, with Mary Gillie (Clwydians). Nav & route execution could have been sharper but no complaints, Great weekend. Any other Mercians do it?
Hi,
Will be going to do Peris on Sat; anyone else going up so that we can car share?
Cheers
Rick
Well, I did 21 hours then the weather turned with a vengeance. It was a great day out though - excellent support team and we all enjoyed ourselves - even me! Notably we only saw 1 group of walkers all day. Rumours about next May... More on p14 of the FRA Forum thread: http://forum.fellrunner.org.uk/showthread.php?t=4384&page=14
Hiya, just thought I would share my latest race experiences!
Firstly I would like to say a big thank-you to Pauline and Keith for putting together a great race like the the Stiperstones Race.
Weather not friendly this Saturday so it'll be next weekend. AndyD is on BG support duty elsewhere but DavidW is up for a decent chunk of it. Looking forward to it! I think !?
